The Rev. Beth E. Jones graduated from Lycoming College in 1995, earned a master of divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in 1998 and was ordained as an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 2001. While in seminary, she married her husband, Tom, and began her ministry in the (former) Wyoming Conference in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
There, she served as pastor of the Dalton United Methodist Church in Dalton, Pa., from 1998-2003 and the Dorranceton United Methodist Church in Kingston, Pa., from 2003-10.
From 2010-12 she was appointed to serve as the United Methodist superintendent of the Scranton District. Redistricting efforts across the new Susquehanna Conference brought her to the area as superintendent of the Williamsport District, resourcing and supervising United Methodist pastors and churches in Potter, Tioga, Bradford, Sullivan and Lycoming counties.
In addition to her work with the bishop and cabinet, Jones serves on the Susquehanna Conference visioning team and chairs the conference episcopacy committee. She enjoys the outdoors and particularly loves trail running through the surrounding mountains.
She and her husband have enjoyed teaching martial arts, as well as many years of hiking and backpacking together. They look forward to finding new adventures here in the Williamsport area.
The Lycoming College Choir and Band will provide special music. The service is open to the families and friends of the senior class and the general public. No tickets are necessary.
