Senior Admissions Counselor

Position Summary:

The Lycoming College Office of Admission seeks applications for the position of Senior Admissions Counselor. The position requires an energetic, self-motivated and goal-oriented professional to join the enrollment team.  This position requires extensive off-campus recruitment, recruitment project management and oversight, telemarketing, reviewing applications, working closely with the Office of Financial Aid, interviewing prospective students and working with parents, guidance counselors, and alumni.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Off-campus student recruitment: 6-8 weeks of travel during the fall semester, and 1-4 weeks in the spring. Travel typically in Pennsylvania and contiguous states. This includes visiting 12-18 high schools and 2-6 college fairs per week.

Phoning: Extensive follow-up with prospective students and applicants from geographic territory.  Evening work is required.

Application Review: Review application files for prospective students and assist with the Admissions Committee.

Prospective Student Visit Management: Plan and coordinate campus visit logistics for prospective students and applicants from geographic territory.

Liaison: Serve as the liaison for several institutional divisions and departments.

Recruitment Project Management and Oversight: Manage and oversee assigned department recruitment projects (i.e. mailings, brochure development, academic department liaisons, and student worker management).  Projects are assigned prior to the start of the academic year.

Events: Assist with all campus-based recruitment events including open house programs and visitation days. Weekend work is required.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and a valid driver’s license are required. 1-3 years of experience in an Admissions office with demonstrated project oversight. At least one year of providing financial aid advisement at a comparable college setting; communications experience; experience in a customer service environment, preferably in higher education.
