“The Institute for Management Studies was established to allow students to explore their own interests in an academic learning environment. It’s about opening doors, making connections and getting a jumpstart on a fulfilling career.”

Mehrdad Madresehee, Robert and Mary Shangraw Professor of Economics and Director of the IMS

Lycoming's Institute for Management Studies (IMS) enhances educational opportunities for students majoring or minoring in accounting, business administration, corporate communication, or economics with internships, topical and professional development seminars, faculty-led research and professional projects, a scholars program, and through The James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series.

IMS guest speakers address current management issues, internships provide students with real-world experience that allows them to put theory into practice, and an exchange program for business, accounting and economics students with the Westminster Business School (WBS), which is part of the University of Westminster system located in London.

Additionally, students may choose to participate in the European Business Experience May-term study abroad program, designed to teach a better understanding of the concepts of globalization and internationalization through business and financial institution visits and lectures, as well as outings to historical and cultural sites.

Students interested in pursuing a graduate degree may consider pursuing an accelerated one-year MBA program through an agreement with the College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, N.Y.
