Biochemistry Learning Goals
Students in the biochemistry major can expect to achieve the following learning goals:
- Demonstrate an understanding of biochemical principles
- Exhibit proficiency with wet laboratory and instrumental techniques as appropriate to the discipline of biochemistry
- Exhibit integrative, problem-solving skills, such as experimental design, data
manipulation, and data interpretation
- Communicate the results of biochemical investigations effectively in written and oral form
- Search the relevant literature, evaluate the results of the search, and access desired
research materials
- Demonstrate responsible conduct in the laboratory, including laboratory safety and
ethical research practices
