Neuroscience Learning Goals
Students who major in Neuroscience can expect to achieve the following learning goals:
- To have been exposed to the fundamental principles of neuroscience
- To have an appreciation for the interdisciplinary nature of neuroscience and the benefits of diverse approaches to understanding the mind and brain
- To be able to access, read, and critically analyze primary neuroscience literature
- To be able to discuss of ethical issues related to neuroscience research
- To be able to develop hypotheses, design and carry out experiments, analyze data, and present the results for neuroscience research
- To have had the opportunity to apply their neuroscience knowledge outside the traditional classroom setting, in a research project, internship, or clinical experience, with an accompanying presentation in Neuroscience Colloquium
