E-Z Borrow

What Is E-Z Borrow?

E-Z Borrow allows students, staff, and faculty to borrow books from participating Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium (PALCI) institutions in Pennsylvania and surrounding regions. Books may be requested 24-hours a day. Please note this service is only for books.

How Long Does It Take?

Materials usually arrive within 3-5 days, but can take up to two weeks to arrive. Please keep this in mind when placing requests. You will be notified in your Lycoming e-mail address when your item arrives.

How Long Can I Keep Materials?

E-Z Borrow materials circulate for 4 weeks with two 4-week renewals permitted. You can renew E-Z Borrow materials by logging into your library account by clicking on My Account through the Snowden Online Catalog.

Where Do I Return E-Z Borrow Materials?

Return all E-Z Borrow and ILL materials to the Circulation Desk.

What Is the Difference Between E-Z Borrow and ILL?

The short answer to this question is that E-Z Borrow is just for books; ILL is for books and articles. Also, if a book is not available through E-Z Borrow, it still may be available through ILL. The advantage of E-Z Borrow is that the books tend to arrive a day or two earlier.

How Can I Check the Status of my E-Z Borrow Requests?

All library pages have a link to E-Z Borrow in the far left column. You will need to enter the nine-digit number that appears at the bottom of your Lycoming ID. Once logged into E-Z Borrow, you can click on My Account and List All Requests to view a list of all past requests as well as check on the status of current requests.

How Do I Place a Request?

  1. Log into E-Z Borrow with your Lycoming ID number.
  2. Search for the book by the author's name, title, subject, or ISBN.
  3. Select the desired book from the list of results. Next, select your pickup location (Snowden Library) and then click on "Request from E-Z Borrow".
  4. A confirmation of your request will be sent to your Lycoming e-mail account.
