Ellen Davis
Pre-Ministry: Director of Music, St John Newberry United Methodist Church
Ellen Davis is Director of Music at Saint John’s–Newberry United Methodist Church. In that capacity she leads an active church music program of choral and instrumental music for adults, youth, and children. She teaches voice and handbell lessons at the Saint John’s School of the Arts and serves on its Board of Directors. She also serves as a District Coordinator for Handbell Musicians of America (Area 2).
Dr. Davis serves with Theological Pursuits & Callings because she is passionate about church music and desires to share that passion with interested students. She has been a professional church musician for over 20 years, serving in churches of various denominations in California, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.
In her spare time Ellen volunteers with the local SPCA and with the Appalachian Horse Help and Rescue organization. She is married to the love of her life, Dr. Steve Johnson, and is the co-pack-leader of a sweet border collie and a goofy hound-mix.
