Philosophy: Assistant Professor Emeritus and Part-time Instructor
Professor Herring was an undergraduate at Wake Forest College and a graduate student at the University of North Carolina. He joined the Lycoming faculty in 1965, and he retired from full-time teaching in 2008. He has sometimes been chairman of the Lycoming faculty and of the Philosophy Department. Currently his principal interests are ethical theory and philosophical issues in health care and in education. Except for bicycling and yard work, his current off-campus life is thought to be relatively uninteresting. However, one time he did play nine holes of golf.
