Most Influential Professor:  Leah Peterson is all about encouraging students to reach their potential. When I’ve produced a good clip, she is quick to compliment but then she’ll ask what I could do to make it better. She pushes you far beyond satisfactory, she’ll keep pushing until you approach excellence.

Favorite Part of Class: We often have guest speakers in class. They offer great insight into the real world applications of digital media. Not only do they give us tips on how to produce better media, they talk about their occupation, and how they got to where they are today.  I’m looking forward to future networking opportunities with these media pros, especially as I near graduation.

Getting Involved: As a freshman, I was able to get airtime every week on WRLC, the campus radio station. As a sophomore, I became the entertainment editor for the College newspaper, the Lycourier.  It’s never too early to get involved! You never know what doors will open for you.

Advice: If you have even the slightest interest in something, go for it. Whether it’s a class, club, or organization, you won’t regret it. All of these aspects of college help you figure out exactly what you want to do when you graduate. Make the most of your four years here!
