Theta Alpha Kappa

Lycoming Chapter: Alpha Theta Gamma

"Theta Alpha Kappa exists to encourage, recognize, and maintain excellence in Religious and/or Theological Studies within baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate degree programs, and also within the academic profession of these studies more broadly understood."

Requirements:

Members must have completed at least three semesters at Lycoming College and at least twelve semester credits in courses representing the study of religion; have attained a GPA of at least 3.5 in these courses and a 3.0 GPA in their total program; and been ranked in the upper 35% of their class at the time of induction.

Membership is not limited to Religion majors.

Non-REL courses that count toward the Religion major also count toward honor society requirements: GRK 221 Readings in the Synoptic Gospels; GRK 222 Readings in the Pauline Epistles; HEBR 221 Readings in Old Testament Narrative; HEBR 222 Readings in the Prophetic Books and Wisdom Literature; HIST 232 Rise of Islam; PHIL 227 Religion and Reason; and PHIL 302 Medieval Philosophy.
