The Commons

Quick Facts:

Each unit has:

  • 1 full bath with a second vanity/sink area outside of the bathroom in each unit
  • A kitchenette area (stove top, sink, full size refrigerator)
  • Basic furnishings - sofa/loveseat, chairs, side tables, bistro table and chairs in the living/kitchen area
  • An extra-long twin bed, dresser, desk and chair and closet space for each resident
  • A combination of carpeted and tiled floors

The complex has:

  • A beautifully landscaped common area outside on the southwest side
  • A community area/programming space with a vending area and laundry facilities on the second floor
  • First floor units which have direct access from the street
  • Elevator and interior stairway access to the second level
  • Two handicap accessible units on the first level

This apartment-style-living residence hall opened in fall of 2007. It houses 85 residents in 22, fully air-conditioned, 3-5 person units. Commons units are available for selection during the housing lottery each spring. All upperclass students are encouraged to apply to participate in the Apartment/Commons lottery process with priority being given to those who are 1) in good disciplinary standing, 2) have 76+ credits and 3) have a GPA of 2.25 at the end of the previous fall semester.
