Curriculum: Tracks and Courses

The theatre major involves a distinctive "track system" in which each student selects a specific program of study in the areas of acting, directing, or design/tech, in addition to a group of core courses. The Theatre Department offers advanced courses in each of these specialized tracks, as well as Advanced Studio courses, which enable students to work one-on-one with their professors.

All students majoring in theatre must complete the core courses and the requirements for at least one of the three specialized tracks. Core courses required of all majors include Introduction to the Theatre, Acting I, Play Production, Stage Makeup, Theatre History I and II, Theatre Colloquium, Modern Drama, Theatre and Culture, and the Senior Project.
