E. Voss came to America with his parents at the age of nine and settled in
Amherst NE. In 1899 he was in
Pennsylvania attending the Central Pennsylvania College of the United
Evangelical Church in New Berlin PA.
When the denomination opened Westmar College in LeMars IA in 1900, he transferred
there and graduated in 1904. His 1899 license
in the Central Pennsylvania Conference occurred during his brief college
experience in New Berlin, and his connection to the Central Pennsylvania
Conference is peripheral and not even mentioned in standard accounts of his
life. Lilla Snyder Voss served in China
1905-15 and died there. Sadie
Dunkelberger Voss served in China 1912-27.
