Brief History:
White Deer was mentioned as a charge as early as 1831, but that does not necessarily refer to the village a White Deer.  The Evangelical Association erected a building south of town in 1876, and the dissenting United Evangelicals erected a building in town in 1895.  The congregation relocated to its present site in 1966 when an old barracks was purchased “as is” from the Carlisle Army Barracks, moved by Ritter House Moving and Construction Company of Paxtonville, and encased in brick for a total cost of about $65,000.
