Counselor

Doan joined the staff in spring of 2024 as a part-time counselor at Lycoming College. She is originally from south Florida and has a Haitian background. Doan is a Nationally Certified Counselor pursuing her professional counseling licensure. She graduated with a bachelor of science in family, youth, & community sciences from the University of Florida and a master of education in counselor education from Penn State University. Doan has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. She practices counseling with an integrative approach of mostly person-centered, multicultural, and acceptance and commitment therapies. One of Doan's primary goals as a counselor is to increase accessibility to mental health services and remove the stigma surrounding receiving therapy, especially in BIPOC communities. She is committed to learning, utilizing, and sharing interventions that are culturally responsive to people and providing them with a space to be unapologetically themselves.
