Adjunct Faculty
Dr. Adams has taught as an adjunct instructor at Lycoming since 2003. With a general concentration in World Religions, he has taught courses in Asian religions, Judaism, Islam, and the introductory course on world religions. Dr. Adams is interested in the many facets of the nature of religious experience, including mysticism, comparative studies of religious experience, Buddhist meditation traditions, and the relationship between religious experience and both psychology and neurology. These and other elements of religious experience are examined in his course, Mysticism and Religious Experience.
Dr. Adams has published and presented a variety of papers and numerous book reviews. His dissertation, The Structure and Meaning of Badarayana's Brahma Sutras, was published in 1993.
Dr. Adams resides in Danville, and has also taught as an adjunct in the Religion Department at Susquehanna University since 1989, where he teaches World Religions, American Religion, and other courses.
