Biology Laboratory Manager

Emily Bohlin joined Lycoming in 2014 as the laboratory manager for the Biology Department. Her broad range of support for the department includes: preparing weekly laboratory experiments for intro courses, training and supervising student lab and teaching assistants, maintaining instruments, equipment and chemical inventory, and implementing laboratory safety policies and OSHA standards. She also maintains the animal research labs, greenhouse, and cadaver lab.
Bohlin earned her M.S. in biological and environmental sciences from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before joining Lycoming, she worked in the environmental consulting industry as a field botanist. She conducted threatened, endangered, and sensitive plant surveys and natural community delineations for the USDA Forest Service in support of their land management and conservation missions.
Bohlin serves as the advisor for the campus Lycoming Environmental Awareness Foundation (LEAF) Club, and she is a PADI certified open water diver. When not working with students in the lab and field, she enjoys hiking, botanizing, and exploring nature with her family.
