Piano Accompanist
Kristin VanValin Ivers is a Williamsport native and graduate of Williamsport Area High School and Bethany College of Lindsborg, Kansas, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance.
Post College, Ivers has enjoyed 35+ years of teaching and accompanying in all venues, including community musical theatre, public schools, colleges, universities and international opera. She sang the Benjamin Britten War Requiem, Op.66 in 1994 as an auditioned choral member of the Robert Shaw Festival Chorus at Carnegie Hall, under the direction of Robert Shaw. She has served as both rehearsal accompanist and choirmaster for the Wichita Grand opera, Wichita, Kansas, as well as staff accompanist for Wichita State University music and opera.
Ivers currently spends her time accompanying Lycoming College vocal students, faculty and staff, as well as area student musicians. She is a past president of Williamsport Music Club (2016-2018) and currently chairs the National Federation of Music Clubs Annual Martha Marcks Mack JR Vocal Award. Ivers is currently serving the Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs as State President.
