Assistant Professor of Political Science
Ben Kantack is an assistant professor of political science. He primarily teaches courses on topics in American politics, such as U.S. government, public policy, and public opinion, as well as courses in other areas such as research methods.
Kantack specializes in political psychology and political behavior. His main research interests include motivated reasoning, political persuasion, citizen competence, and democratic accountability. His work has been published in Political Research Quarterly, Social Science Quarterly, and the Journal of Political Science.
Kantack earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish from the University of Nebraska and master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois. Prior to his current position at Lycoming College, he taught at the University of Georgia and Georgia Gwinnett College.
