German Language Assistant

Helen Eileen Schweizer (she/her) comes to Lycoming from Würzburg, a beautiful city in the south of Germany (Bavaria). She is an undergraduate student at Julius-Maximilians-University studying secondary education with a focus on English and sports. Schweizer loves all kinds of sporty activities and takes dancing classes and practices gymnastics as hobbies. She is looking forward to her FLTA experience as it has always been her dream to familiarize foreign language students with the German language and culture. While living in the United States will provide a deeper insight into American culture and values, she is excited to get to know her home country from the perspective of U.S. students, and aims to contribute to their communication skills by conveying her passion for cross-cultural interaction. Following her time at Lycoming, Schweizer will finish her studies in Germany, and plans to work as a teacher for English and sports for German Gymnasium. She is very excited to get to know the students and the campus!
