Lecturer of Mathematical Sciences
Gary Smith joined the mathematical sciences department as a lecturer. Prior to joining the College, Smith worked at Muncy Junior/Senior High School for 34 years, teaching precalculus, statistics, calculus, Advanced Placement calculus AB, and Advanced Placement calculus BC. He additionally taught evening courses as an adjunct at Pennsylvania College of Technology, tutored through the TRIO/Upward Bound program at Bloomsburg University, coached a variety of sports, and was a test item writer for ACT End of Course Assessments. Currently, Smith is a volunteer assistant golf coach and volunteer assistant baseball coach at Bloomsburg High School.
Smith earned a bachelor of science in secondary education (mathematics) from Bloomsburg University and holds a master’s equivalency from the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
