Douglas Young joined the Lycoming College faculty in 2008, having previously taught at Davidson College in North Carolina and Bowdoin College in Maine. He received an M.A. and Ph.D. from Cornell University where he studied in the Joint Program in Ancient Philosophy administered by the Departments of Philosophy and Classics. Prior to that, he earned an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School where his work focused on the intersection between philosophy and theology. His undergraduate work was done at Brown University where he received an A.B. in philosophy & religious studies. Young's research focuses on the history of philosophy, particularly that of ancient Greece and Rome. He also has teaching interests in medieval philosophy, philosophy of religion, as well as contemporary epistemology and metaphysics.
