Created in 2016, the Student Retention Fund provides critical resources to Lycoming College students performing well academically who are at risk of not completing their degree because of unforeseen financial hardships or excessive student indebtedness. Helping these promising and hard-working students allows them to earn their degrees from Lycoming and launch successful careers. A Student Retention Committee, working in partnership with the Financial Aid office, identifies and qualifies students to receive support from the Student Retention Fund.
Three former chairs of the Lycoming College Board of Trustees, along with their spouses, have generously established a matching gift program. Art ’59 and Joanne Haberberger, Peter ’69 and Joyce Lynn, and Stan ’80 and Jolene ’80 Sloter will collectively give up to $100,000 to match 50 percent of any gift made to the Student Retention Fund between now through June 30, 2022. The goal is to raise a total of $300,000 this fiscal year in support of Lycoming students and their path to graduation and promising careers.
You can make your gift to the Student Retention Fund at www.lycoming.edu\givenow or by mailing a check to: Office of Advancement, Lycoming College, One College Place, Williamsport, PA 17701-5192.
