Lycoming College topped its ranking in the U.S. News and World Report National Liberal Arts Colleges listing, jumping up four spots to No. 107 for 2023-2024.

The U.S. News & World Report rankings are some of the most trusted college rankings available to college-bound students and their families, enabling them to compare the academic quality of higher education institutions across the country. Lycoming’s several years’ climb signals the College’s dedication to providing a top-tier education.

Lycoming also rose four spots in the U.S. News Social Mobility ranking to take No. 7 among all U.S. Colleges. This prominent positioning provides validation that Lycoming is succeeding at helping to graduate a high percentage of Pell-awarded students.

U.S. News ranks institutions based on multiple factors of academic quality, including graduation rates, social mobility, and faculty resources. The College’s investments in high-impact academic programs — including efforts to increase access to experiential learning opportunities such as internships, research, and global education, as well as improving its student-faculty ratio from 12:1 to 11:1 — have been central features to Lycoming’s continued ascent in U.S. News.

In addition to the U.S. News rankings, Lycoming was included in other industry rankings this year, including The Princeton Review, which named Lycoming one of the Best 389 Colleges and Universities.
