Lycoming College Art Gallery in downtown Williamsport will feature the thesis works of graduating senior art students at an exhibition that opens on Friday, April 4, with an artist reception at 5:30 p.m. The show runs through Friday, May 9, and is free and open to the public.
The Lycoming College Senior Show is the culmination of thesis projects for all seniors with a major in studio art. All studio art majors are required to produce a cohesive body of professional thesis work and must be chosen by an outside juror to exhibit in the Senior Show in order to graduate. The juror for this year’s thesis exhibition is Casey Gleghorn.
Gleghorn, who grew up in Williamsport, has been director of Derosia Gallery in New York City for more than 14 years where he works with international established and emerging artists to curate and organized international gallery and museum exhibitions. He is the recipient of the 2023 Gramercy International Prize for his curatorial programming at No Gallery NYC, presented by The Armory.
The Lycoming College Art Gallery, located in downtown Williamsport at 25 W. Fourth St., contributes to the city’s arts culture and allows the College to become more involved with the surrounding community. Lycoming art students have the opportunity to interact with visiting artists and learn first-hand the inner workings of an art gallery.
The gallery is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 4-8 p.m. For more information, visit the gallery online.
